Day 1, 2 & 3: Munnar (1800 meters above sea level, 140 K.ms from Kochi, 3.5 hours drive)
On arrival get met and assisted by our representative and he will transfer you to Munnar by a scenic drive and stopping at the spots of your interest such as waterfalls, Spices market etc.
When reaching Munnar check in to the hotel & get refreshed. You may relax. Afternoon or when you are ready to explore Munnar, the Royal Hill Station of Kerala, discuss with our driver about your interest, he is well aware of the tourist spots in Munnar and will give you information required. Below listed are some places to be visited in Munnar.
The Mattupetty lake and dam is a very beautiful picnic spot. The sprawling Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala lake are other attractions in the vicinity. Boating facilities like Speed Launch and slow speed motor boats are available on hire.
Kundala Lake is an artificial reservoir of a minor arch shaped dam huddled between the mountain ranges. It is about a 20 km drive from Munnar. Boating facilities available here.
Pothamedu offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The rolling hills, the lush mountain and the breathtaking scenery here is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks.
This is 1880 meters above sea level & is about 40 km from Munnar. The panoramic view of the Western Ghats and the valley of Theni from Top station is simply breathtaking.
Echo Point is about 15 km from Munnar. Go there and scream as loud as you can, and wait for a while. You can hear your echo back!
This idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna and the cool mountain air is a rare experience. The Sita Devi Lake with its mineral waters and picturesque surroundings is a good picnic spot. The lake is also ideal for trout fishing.
Nyayamakad: Located between Munnar and Rajamala, Nyayamakad is a land of breathtaking waterfalls. The waters cascade down a hill from a height of about 1600 meters. The enchanting surroundings makes an excellent picnic spot and trekking point.
Rajamalai (Part of Eravikulam National Park):
Rajamalai is located at about 15 k.ms from Munnar. This region is the natural habitat of the Nilgiri Tahr (Hemitragas hylocres). It was converted to a national park to provide a safe sanctuary for the endangered species of Nilgiri Tahr. The natural habitat of the Niligiri tahr ,Rajamala is 2695 Mts above sea level.
This tea museum is first of its kind in India. The aim of this museum according to its founders is to showcase the growth of more-than-a-century-old tea plantations in this region. Anyone visiting this museum will get a clear picture of how backbreaking is tea processing really.
Sandalwood forest Marayur:
Marayoor is located at around 42 k.ms north of Munna. And is famous for the natural sandalwood forest. Not only that, this place is said to be part of the ancient stone age civilization dated back to 10,000 B.C. Stone age paintings, rock edicts and dolmens found there vouch for this rich heritage.
Blossom International Park is about 3 km away from Munnar town and it spreads over 16 acres. It is a peaceful location to enjoy a calm and relaxing nature walk admiring flowers and surrounding green hillside. The park offer many activities for tourists like boating, cycling, roller skating etc.
Lakkom Water Falls:
This waterfall is about 25 k.ms from Munnar. Lakkom waterfalls are part of Eravikulam National Park.
Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary:
Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is about 60 k.ms from Munnar. It is an ideal spot for trekking and enjoying wildlife closely. It is the habitat for endangered grizzled giant squirrel in India. Almost 34 species of mammals including panthers, spotted deer, elephants, tigers can be found here. It is also a bird watchers paradise. 245 species of birds live here!
Day 4: Thekkady ( 90 K.ms, 3 hours drive)
Rise up with sun to have an early breakfast and awesome drive to Thekkady to visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary & surroundings. Check in to the pre-booked hotel. When you are ready a boating to Periyar lake is advised to see animals from their natural habitat.
The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary:
Lying close to the plantations, in the rich jungles of Periyar in Thekkady is one of the world’s most fascinating natural wildlife reserves – the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Spread across 777 sq.km, of which 360 Sq.km is thick evergreen forest.Noted for its geomorphology, diversity of wildlife and scenic beauty, the Reserve attracts visitors from all over the world. The splendid artificial lake formed by the Mullaperiyar Dam across the Periyar adds to the charm of the park. This is the only sanctuary in India where you can have the unique experience of viewing wildlife at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake.

Day 5: Alappuzha Houseboat Cruise (150 K.ms from Thekkady, 4 hours drive)
Today you are heading to Alappuzha after the breakfast from Thekkady for a 22 hours houseboat cruise to enjoy the serene backwaters and inland water villages. You enjoy the centuries old life of Inland water villages like traditional fishing, coir making, duck farming, toddy tapping etc from the comfort of a houseboat with modern amenities. Kerala traditional meals served on board the boat during the cruise. The boat will be ready there for embarkation with tender coconut welcome drinks. Overnight at Houseboat.

Day 6: Kochi-Ernakulam (60 K.ms, 1.5 hours drive)
Today morning after savouring a Traditional Kerala breakfast disembark from houseboat and drive to the historical town of Fort Kochi also called Old Kochi. If you have enough time Ernakulam is a well stocked developed market for shopping.
An obscure fishing village became the first European township in India shaped by Portuguese, Dutch and later the British. Take a leisurely stroll through its streets and discover its history. The towering ancient Rain Trees, the white-washed walls laden with crimson bougainvilleas, the musty old spice warehouses and the spice market at Mattancherry, unused yards smothered in vegetation, the antique shops on Jew’s street, yes history is seeping through every brick and stone here !
The attractions here are the Dutch palace with Kerala murals, famous Chinese fishing nets, Jewish synagogues, St. Francis Church, Jain temple, Portuguese churches & British clubs and much more. Do not forget to visit the ”You Buy I Cook” fish stall in Fort Kochi.
If performing arts is of your interest you can see the Kathakali Drama in the evening from the local theatre. Kathakali is an exotic and internationally popular Kerala’s traditional art form. ”Mudra & Make up” follows the performance. Two hours pass very soon in the evening 6 PM.

After breakfast a city sightseeing and shopping drive to your departure point (Airport/Railway station)
